does the Fireplace Heatsaver work?
The
Fireplace Heatsaver stops t he chimney taking heat

How
much money will the Fireplace Heatsaver save me?
The
Fireplace Heatsaver was tested by an independent
test house, BSRIA. The tests and calculations were based upon SAP
2005, the current standard of insulation required in all homes built
today. BSRIA concluded that the Fireplace Heatsaver

Will
the Fireplace Heatsaver prevent chimney downdraughts?
The
Fireplace Heatsaver stops downdraughts. You may
need to fix it in place with tape etc. to stop it rattling or moving
away from the opening.
Will
the Fireplace Heatsaver work in my house?
The
Fireplace Heatsaver will work on any suitable fire,
regardless of the style or age of your property. The Fireplace Heatsaver
is not designed to work with Back Boiler Units, Flueless gas fires,
stoves or hole-in-the-wall type fires. You will need to check the
dimensions of the standard fireplace heat saver to your fireplace
size and grate dimensions.
Will
The Fireplace Heatsaver help the environment?
The
Fireplace Heatsaver will reduce your Carbon Footprint
by reducing the need to use your fire and enabling you to turn down
your heating system, reducing your use of fossil fuels.
What
is the Stack Effect?
The
stack effect is a continuous cycle of air movement in homes with
chimneys or flues. Warm air is lost up the chimney and is replaced
by cold air drawn through gaps under doors, around windows, under
floorboards & the building fabric.
In simple terms, the chimney has an effect
like a window or outside door left open all the time.
Can
I use the Fireplace Heatsaver when the fire is operating?
NO.
The Fireplace Heatsaver must not be used
when the fire is operating. It is not a fireguard. Only install
when the fire has cooled to normal room temperature. Further details

What
fires can the Fireplace Heatsaver be used with?
The
Fireplace Heatsaver can be used with most domestic
fires. They must not be used with fires with Back Boiler Units,
Flueless gas fires, stoves and hole-in-the-wall type fires. If you

Can
I fit the The Fireplace Heatsaver myself?
Yes,
it is easy to fit with no special skills ot tools needed. Simply
unpack the Fireplace Heatsaver, turn off your fire,
leave to cool, place it in front of your fire or fireplace opening.

What

Heatsaver is made from a tough transparent Acrylic material.
What
if I want to use my fire?
Simply
remove the Fireplace Heatsaver from in front of
your fire and store until needed.
Does
the Fireplace Heatsaver provide ventilation to the chimney?
It
is important to have some ventilation to your chimney to prevent
damp. The Fireplace Heatsaver has ventilation gaps
at the base allowing a trickle of air to vent the chimney dry whilst
dramatically reducing air loss.
How
long can I leave the Fireplace Heatsaver in place?
You
can leave the Fireplace Heatsaver in place for
as long as you want. The longer you leave the Fireplace
Heatsaver in place, the less heat is going up your chimney
and the more money you will save.
How
do I know what size of Fireplace Heatsaver I need?
Simply
measure the height and width of your fire or fireplace opening,
including your grate. Check these sizes to the standard heatsaver
dimensions. For greater than 660mm tall or 630mm wide or 120mm
